About HackedWire
An independent cybersecurity publication for the people who defend systems — and the people who need to understand them.
HackedWire reports on cyber incidents, vulnerabilities, threat actors, defensive security, digital privacy, security research, and the companies shaping cybersecurity. It is written for security professionals, executives, researchers, IT teams, business owners, and informed consumers — fast, credible, and technically informed.
What HackedWire is
A working newsroom with beats, standards, and a corrections policy. Every report distinguishes what is confirmed from what is alleged, names its sources, and carries its evidence with it. Our editorial standards are published and enforceable, and every factual claim in our reporting traces to a retrievable source.
What HackedWire is not
HackedWire is not a hacking tutorial marketplace, a stolen-data repository, a cybercrime forum, or a sensationalist breach aggregator. We do not publish stolen credentials, personal records, access tokens, or live secrets, and we do not perform unauthorized access, scanning, or intrusion in the course of reporting.
How we work
Coverage moves through an editorial queue — discover, verify, assign, draft, technical review, legal review where needed, publish, update, distribute. Nothing ships until it has been checked, and when the facts change we update the record and say so on our corrections page.
Independence
HackedWire is published independently. Sponsors and advertisers never influence reporting: paid placements are clearly labeled and physically separated from the newsroom, and pay-for-positive-coverage arrangements are prohibited outright. See our advertising disclosure.
Masthead
The newsroom
HackedWire’s house editorial staff. Bylines on our reporting are house editorial personas — named roles, not real employees — as disclosed in our AI use & authorship policy.
